The future is already here: SiteKiosk 7 is compatible with Windows 7, IE 8 and Vista 64
Always keeping ahead of the game, we already adjusted SK7 and made sure it is compatible with the latest versions of Windows7 and Internet Explorer 8. SK7 may also be the very first "true" 64-bit kiosk application available on the market and, thus, support computers with more than 4 GB of RAM installed.

Automatic and maintenance-free operation of your kiosks 24/7
SiteKiosk safeguards each machine as soon as it boots up against any manipulation and ensures that the machine will run without a hitch 24/7. BIOS settings can be used to automatically switch the computer in the morning. You can leave the rest to SiteKiosk as it can shut down the machine at any time in the evening or at night. Installing additional virus protection software is not necessary. You can use SiteRemote to conveniently maintain your machines from a remote location.

Integrated and adjustable secure browser
SiteKiosk’s integrated kiosk browser is based on Microsoft’s Internet Explorer and is capable of displaying the same content such as Web pages, images (.gif, .jpg, .png, and .bmp), videos, Flash and PDF files, etc. The difference between this browser and Internet Explorer is that SiteKiosk’s integrated browser leaves it up to you which features and Web sites you allow your users to access and what the visible interface is supposed to look like. For instance, SiteKiosk allows you to completely redesign all buttons (SiteKiosk Object Model) or display content in fullscreen mode.

Hardware components
Out of the box, SiteKiosk already includes support for a wide range of hardware components including card readers, motion sensors, webcams, coin acceptors, bill readers, scanners, etc. This allows you to respond to the requirements of any project in a quick and flexible manner.

Issues with Public-access systems
“A public-access computer must both be very easy to operate and provide protection against vandalism.” Most people immediately think of physical damage when they hear the term “vandalism”. However, a more serious concern with kiosk terminals exist, called “computer vandalism”. Computer vandalism involves the manipulation of the operating system and critical files/folders, causing the terminal to malfunction. The result of this occurrence ranges from loss of revenue, damage to the company’s reputation and administrative costs for repairs.

User Manipulation
An example of unacceptable user manipulation is turning on High Contrast mode, which changes the colors and resolution of your screen, affecting the usability of the kiosk terminal. Try it yourself by pressing the keys LEFT-ALT + LEFT SHIFT + PRINT SCREEN simultaneously and followed by OK (reset the monitor’s settings by pressing this key combination again). Though it may seem harmless and not as serious of an issue as crashing the operating system, it still can have the same results. If a customer does not know how to undo the effects of this key combination, it will prevent the user from using the terminal, causing loss of revenue and damage to the company’s reputation.
